Does anyone use this setup on their car? I was just curious about it, I've seen corvette america sell it for like $495...but their crazy, cause I can get it for less than a $100 on ebay....I need some opinions about this product..never used it, but it sounded nice to have...input please http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...478720383&rd=1
My '85 has one of these. I figure anything you can do to keep the oil cool is good for the car and performance, but I couldn't possibly justify $500 for it! I have no complaints though. Mine works just fine.

Re: """ENGINE OIL COOLER UNIT ??""" (larryfs)
I've got a new GM oil filter adapter for a cooler and a water-cooled oil cooler I got off of a police car years ago. I will install it before winter, not so much to cool the oil as to warm it up faster in cold weather to minimize engine wear.
They can definetely benefit from an aftermarket oil cooler it just seems there's nowhere good to mount it..I'm working on a cooler with a fan that will mount on the slanted side of the firewall down low close to the engine..I'll post some pics when it's done.
I'm running a Derale oil cooler which has a fan also.
I mounted mine directly behind the front license plate. There's some egg carton material there that I had to cut away for the clearance.
I ran the two hoses out the driver's side in front of the radiators, then along the inner fender, then down below the power brake booster, over the header collector (which I wrapped with heat cloth tape) and to the adapter.
I mounted the thermostat on the inner fender across from the alternator. I also mounted a toggle switch on the dash, right under the headlight switch to control the fan.
The trickiest part was keeping the hoses from interfering with the headlight movement. Not too bad though. It's been installed about two years now.
