My friend can pick me up some 112 octane race gas. I was going to add it to existing gas in my tank occassionally. At about $5 a gallon, is it even worth it for street use? Will I gain anything I may feel, or am I wasting my money?
Complete waste of money unless you're running a blower or a huge shot of nitrous that detonates on premium. BTW, is it unleaded? I didn't think you could get unleaded in an octane that high. If it's at all leaded you'll destroy your injectors, O2 sensors, and cats if you still have them.

:iagree: Add to that big compression. 93 or 94 is about all you need. I ran 94 in the first 406 I built and it ran 11.70s in a 3,400 Nova. I wanted to try 112 to see if I could bonzai a run so I drained the 94, used straight 112 on a night with excellent air and killed the car .15.
If you're going to waste the $, waste it on the good stuff, leaded 116 octane which every hot rodder worth his salt loves the scent of.
The above advice is good, spend your $ elsewhere. Race fuel is for high compression/supercharged engines to fend off detonation where pump gas, can't quite do that job too well.
