better steering wheel
Have anyone found a decent replacement steering wheel for the late ('96) C4 cars?
The stock one is the worst feature, by far, on my '96 and it has to go....but I can't find a MOMO or anything else made for the late C4. I'd even consider putting in a C5 wheel if it will fit...
Not a direct replacement,you must disable the airbag and use a hub adapter.But anything is worth it to loose the butt ugly and not to mention very heavy stock wheel
you mean something that has an airbag? if you're not keeping the airbag, almost any momo or sparco wheel will fit, using the momo adapter for early C4s. i think there's a few things different on the late C4s but that the adapter still works with some sensible adaptation.
a guy i auto-x with has a momo monte carlo on his '90, and it looks great. i was also surprised that the seat/wheel distance felt a tiny bit better than stock, whereas most of the time the adapter hubs ruin a good relationship.
wheel=momo evo millenium 350mm
adapter=telescopic momo and yes adapters for earlier year C4's will work with a little adaption on later years
i have a '94 LT1 A4
weight saving alone over stock wheel is amazing,also wheel feels so much better as if it shoulda been on there from the factory instead of that ugly wheel you get

Re: better steering wheel (JAYK)
JAYK,
Is the horn button functional? I.e. do the horns still work?
Can you post a picture taken from the side? I'd like to see how the MOMO adapter matches up to the Chevy dash....

I did this on another air bag equiped car and got the typical flashing light. When I removed the light, I had a buzzer cycle on and off warning me the air bag was faulty. (took me forever to finally find the buzzer)
Do you mean you hate the 96 steering wheel more than the 92-93? I don't know about the weights, but that 1993 wheel is identical to the 1993 Dodge minivan steering wheel I was familar with from driving rental cars at the airport in the summer of 1993.
A corvette should not resemble a Dodge minivan in any respect.
