Default Next performance step... any thoughts?

Hi! I have a 1996 LT1. It has been slightly modified. The exhaust has had the cats and resonator removed, so it is basically just straight pipes back to the stock mufflers. The car has BBS racing wheels x4 corners, all 17x9.5, with 275/40ZR17 Riken Raptor rubber (hah... alliteration) everywhere. My car is pretty quick, but my first track day is coming up two weeks from now. What are good next steps to take to bring up the performance? I have about 1000 dollars to spend, and good tools, although I do not have a lift. I'm also wondering if anyone else has a similar setup, and what kind of track numbers I should see as a novice driver. The car has the 4 speed auto. Thank you for you time and consideration.

What kind of track? Road race or 1/4 mile? Either way, these cars respond well to headers.

He's right, it's air in and air out. Get headers and some work on your intake. There are lots of int6ake systems that cost 200-300 dollars that will help the car breath better. That plus the headers shoud be right around a thousand dollars. Have fun racing. :iagree:
