88 stock L98. 60K miles. tarts right up when cold. Hard to start when hot. Cranks several times befor starting. No smoke when it does start. Hear a slight pop or rough idle for just a second. Could this be a leaking injector. If so, should you have only the bad one replaced or all eight :cuss
doesn't sound like a leaky injector to me sound like something electronic that has a heat issue. If you do replace your injector replace them all not just one easier and you will just have to take the plenum off once
I would check the fuel pressure first. It doesn't sound like an injector leaking. If that was the case it would crank for about 5 or 6 seconds before it would start, cold or hot. I had a simular problem with mine and it turned out to be a bad fuel pump check valve. I fixed it with a $54 new pump from Auto Zone that was a perfect fit and took less than 2 hours to replace. My symptoms were that if it was cold it took about 5-6 seconds for it to start. If it was hot and had been running recently it would take 4 or 5 try's and it would sputter and die each time. If that is your problem it is either a leaking check valve in the fuel pump or a leaking injector probably. I took out the fuel pump and could blow air through it both ways. Shouldn't be able to do that if the check valve is working. If you do end up needing a set of injectors though, you might want to check out http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/ I bought an entire set of injectors for my 1990 for $190 and they work great. Fixed my problem and it was much cheaper than the $100 a piece the dealer wanted. They were also pretty easy to replace (about 3 hours). A 7" long T40 start wrench from Snap On to get the runner bolts out was the key. Al
