I want to add an oil pressure light for racing when you can't always look at gauges. I know the oil pressure ssnsor/fuel pressure switch is behind the distributor. Therefore, hard to access & a very tight area for a "T" and another sender for the AutoMeter Light. Question - is the oil temperature sendor location above the oil filter boss a "pressure" source, or only a low pressure tap for monitoring temps? Has anyone taken a pressure reading there? George Krouse, did you try this? Thanks in advance, Paul :flag
You are right about it beeing tight but there is a simple solution. They sell a flex hose, I think it's Mr gasket, that will make life a lot easier. It is about a 1' long and works great. I used it on my LT1 swap when I had my 84. It comes with a mounting bracket for the oil sending unit that I mounted next to the wiper motor. The only thing that I had to do was run a ground to the sending unit because the hose is rubber. I think it would alow you to install any fittings you need for the light. If you are need one let me know and I will get a P/N for you. Lets just call it pay-back for the time you helped me a while back.
Paul - thanks for the info. I still think I'll try the lower lcoation first - it's really easy versus working around the distributor or pulling ita gain. I like easy! If that doesn't work, I'll check Mr. Gasket. Thanks a lot, Paul :flag

A variation on this. Run a #4 Aeroquip hose to a block mounted elsewhere and get all of the sender/sensors out from behind the manifold.
