I'm going back to paper. My engine is stock and I don't like the way the oil and gauze K&N type filter installed (aFe brand) makes me have to clean my MAF wires more often.
Are NAPA Gold air filters made by WIX? Aren't WIX the best flowing paper air filters?
Cool blue filters are still oil and gauze. I think I want to get away from oiled air filters altogether. I don't put enough miles on the Vette anyhow for the re-usability of an oiled cotton air filter to be a big factor anyhow.
..According to the instructions, you still have to oil it.....
JT...no re-oil required. Just hose off, dry, replace.
Well, the downloadable pdf with the instructions say you spray it with their blue oil after you've rinsed it an allowed it to dry. Is it your experience that the oiling step can be eliminated? If so, I wonder if that would hold true for the K&N element as well?
