Default Keyless entry help

Can you point me in the direction to gain control of my remotes for keyless entry... When I am near the car whether cleaning it or just standing around it with the remote in my hand or pockets it continuously locks / unlocks until I back up about 7feet. I would like to control the locking via the remote but it does not react when I press the buttons to manually lock / unlock the car.

BTW, I just purchased this 96 after selling my 86 BBC.

VETTES ARE #1 AND THERE IS NO #2. :steering:

Its a passive keyless system. Meaning you only have to get close to the car to unlock it, away to lock it. You can turn it off, near the car, hold down the door button, you'll hear the locks cycle. Repeat to turn it back on. Fast and easy to do. I do it when I get gas or am washing the Vette.
