Default Transmission Converter for modified C4

Hello,

just came back from a short trip with my Vette - the end was she had to be towed to the Chevy dealer ... :cry

Had white smoke behind me on the Autobahn - and oil on my rear...
Found out that I have an oil leak somewhere near the transmission converter - now I'm not sure if it is only a gasket or a bigger problem with the converter. I'll know next week.

In case it is something wrong with the converter I'd replace it with something better than stock - what do you think? Just opend the Summit catalogue and read something about TCI or B&M converters.... have no idea what would be a good choice for my slighlty modified Vette.

When my A4 was rebuilt over a year ago I had the stock 1,500rpm TC replaced with a 2,000rpm modified GN TC. It realy launches harder now but will blow the tires off on the street and it still feels "tight" during street driving.

The best TC depends on your intended use. Staying with a 12" lockup TC under 2,400rpm will allow you to get by without installing an additional tranny cooler; a more radical unit will require additional cooling.

As I already have a tranny cooler installed (due to high speeds driven on German Autobahn) the other option would be possible, too.

What do you mean by "launch harder" ?
With my 2.59 gears I'm not running for 1/4mile ....
