Those are the right ones for the half shafts. When I did mine I noticed the same thing, about .060 to wide. when you install them the caps will have to pressed together. There is a little ridge that the caps go over once this happens they will be the proper width.

I didn't, I got the info from other sources (and I have personally installed these PN's on my 86). I posted the website because, if I recall correctly there is contact info there for Dana who owns Spicer, and I think Napa

They make a loud SNAP when you press the caps on. Sounds like something breaking, but it is just the seal clicking in place. I used a C-clamp to seat the caps.

Last year I called Spicer in Ft. Wayne, IN directly and spoke to one of their guys who put me on their internal web page so I could see what was specified there. The 5-800X are correct. The end caps have an anodized coating just for aluminum half-shafts. Some shops (including a local Chevy dealership I know of) use the steel cap units and put ant-seize on the caps because it's cheaper, but Spicer told me that the specified heavy-duty units for C4 aluminum half-shafts is the 5-800X. That's what I put on my 88 and absolutely no problems.

Are these the numbers for all C4s, such as my '95? And are these the joints without the grease fittings? Thanks.
