Since 245C is 473F, I hope your light come on well before that.
For the 86, three telltales are incorporated into the Driver's Information Center to serve as a warning signal if an out of normal range condition occurs on any of the following five functions: Oil Pressure, Oil Temperature, Coolant Temperature, System Voltage and Fuel Level.
There are three warning lights, one for fuel, one for oil pressure/temperature and one for coolant temp/system voltage. If the oil pressure/temp or coolant temp/system voltage goes out of range, the DIC will automatically switch to display the one that is out of range (even if it's not currently being displayed) and maximum display brightness will occur.
As far as the actual coolant temp that will trigger the warning light, I believe it's 265 F, but I'll have to look it up to be certain. Or I could just drain my radiator, fire her up and wait until the light comes on - Naw, Bad Idea.
I've seen my oil pressure telltale come on; new oil filter was defective.
I've seen my low fuel level light from time to time too.
I've also seen my system voltage telltale when my alternator failed a couple of years ago, but I've never had the coolant temp high enough for that one to come on.
