If you don't want to do anything fancy you can't go wrong with just AC Delco R44LTS plugs. They'll cost you $11 for the whole set. You can go through 10 sets of these for the cost of the gimmick plugs or platinums. When you do the math it's actually cheaper for the mileage you get out of them, it just requires you change them more often than with platinums.
Anyone tried the Denso Iridum plugs? They cost A LOT. But hese are supposed to be good for 100k miles???
They also cost approximately $100.
You can buy regular plugs for $11 and they are good for 30k miles. So you're basically going through 10 sets of regular plugs, or 300k miles for the price of the iridium plugs. Suddenly they don't sound like such a bargain do they?
Platinums and Iridium plugs are great if you don't want to change them often, but for those who race a lot we've always got the car apart anyway. A spark plug can speak volumes about the engine. The high dollar plugs simply aren't worth it since they'll likely be removed a milltion times anyway.

IF you are racing.
If you drive like I do, which is 99.9% street, IE, more like a regular car, and don't want to fight plugs every year, then get the NGKs.
Not everyone is a racer. I put 15k miles a year on mine, just driving. I don't want to do plugs every 18-24 months... so, in went the NGKs.
Re: Which Plugs to use--- LT4 --- HELP (96CollectorSport)
yeah, I have the +4s. They seem alright, I've had no problems and the car idled better with these than the champions. But if any spark plug is on its last leg, any new spark plug will enhance performance. I'm thinking about changing to cutback plugs - I'll determine that this weekend when I check the plugs. :seeya
