Ok, I know this is an overdone issue but may I ask; what are the best replacement fuel injectors for an '85? I've come to realize that mine seem to be the original 24lbs ones that came from the factory. I really don't want to go to the dealer and pay $$$. I've heard good things about the ford injectors. Can anyone give me some opinions? Are the fords a direct drop-in with zero modifications to wiring? TIA
Well, these have been around since 1985 and combined with the fact that there are no leaks at the intake I feel that on the right side of the motor (where the wideband is showing 17:1 after warm-up) there might be one or more that might not be up to spec. The motor is brand new...heads are new...everything is new except the injectors and MAF; I have a new MAF on the way...so the next logical expense is the injectors. My local speed shop guy can get me a set of FMS 24lb units by tomorrow.
I put these injectors along with a new fuel pressure regulator in over the winter and have nothing but good things to say about them. No more hard start problems, better idle and the car runs better than it has in the past two years. http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/Injector_SetsTPI.asp
By the way.......I installed the 22lb pink ones because the car is baiscally stock........Good luck
On a thread I just posted, I mentioned some ford injectors I found on summit. Those were 24lb/hr, and these are 22? What does an 85 come stock with anyway?
