Default Piston I.D.

I just bought a 400 c.i. short block. It's supposed to have forged pistons. They are stamped L 2376. Does anyone have info re. brand, comp. ratio, etc? Thanks, Jack

That is a Speed-Pro type number, but I don't see it listed in my catalog. It jumps from L2372F to L2377F. Those are both big block Chevys. You might give Speed-Pro or Fegeral Mogul a call. Did you read the number correctly? No typo? Good luck, and...

Thanks CFI-EFI I checked Speed Pro, TRW and Federal Mogul's site and , like you said, the L prefix jives (firged) but the number is "off". Maybe an old part no. I thought someone out there might recognize it as such. I'll call but can predict the red-tape and kind of "answer" I'' get.
Hey, as they say, "Race On"!!

TRW puts a lighting bolt on the side of their pistons(skirt area) so if you see that, then there you go, otherwise ???
