I have a double sided grooved belt on my 92 convertible. Every parts store I went to thought I was crazy when I told them what I had. I had to go to chevy and have them run the VIN to get a belt, the parts guy said he had never seen one before but he did have one in stock. I was told when I got the car that it had some wierd motor in that wasn't even offered that year, but the car was built for some guy who owned some big dealership in Akron, OH so he got whatever he wanted.help me find what motor it is so I can get parts for it?

1992-1993 LT1 serpentine belt are double sided and they are expensive. Your local auto aprts stores don't carry them. It is a dealer part. Last time I bought one for my 93 at the dealer and paid $60 some dollars.
Re: Wierd serpentine belt question (Corvette Kid NC)
Wonderful to know that it is a "Dealer Item" :banghead:
Just saved me some time calling PBs and Orelies......
Any suggestions or replacement tips....or is it primarily just an open and shut case?
Also with a newly aquired 92....with a BAAAAD serpintine belt

Then again the parts guy that told me he had never seen a belt like that before is the same assmaster that told me after I degreased my motor and it wouldn't start to keep cranking it until it did, it wouldn't hurt anything. You know what I wthink about that guy. :cuss

Re: Wierd serpentine belt question (Scott Muharsky)
If you guys can get a part number you might want to check with Superior Chevrolet or Sam Taylor Buick-Cad. They both sell GM parts at a discount. There are others too. http://gmparts@samtaylor.com/html/parts.html

I haven't put it on yet, it is in my garage and I am about to go to sleep, don't want to go outside in my boxers and frighten the natives. I will post it tomorrow.
