Default Headlight weirdness

On my 91 I noticed this AM the left headlight motor keeps running when I turn on the headlights for about 5 seconds after it reaches full open. When I turn off the headlights the motor runs for an addition 5-6 seconds after the headlight is full close. If I turn on the parking lights. the headlights don't move. However, when I turn them off the left motor runs for about 5-6 seconds. Other than that, both headlights seem to work just fine. Is there a limit switch on these things going bad? or is the "infamous" headlight gear on its way out? Or is this something else? Thanks in advance for the help.

Mine does it too, it also doesn't lift either headlight randomly. I have had a lot of help here on that subject in the last few days. Check some past threads, it seems to be a fairly common problem and fairly east to fix.

Had the exact same problem on my 94. So yesterday I replaced the 3 bushings in the headlight motor assembly and now all is good! Took me about an hour and a half, this being my first attempt. I could do it much quicker the next time. Search the tech section for helpful write-ups. Later Zane
