Default Powermaster alternator mounting problems

I have one of the hi-amp models for my '95 LT1, and there is a mounting hole that hits the valve cover. Do I need to grind this mounting hole or what else can I do?

Default Re: Powermaster alternator mounting problems (SLOWBUSA)

The threaded bolt holes in the back of the alternator are on the top and bottom instead of the left and right. The bottom mounting hole is the one contacting the valve cover. The pin connector is on the upper part of the alternator facing upwards instead of being on the bottom facing passenger side. If I grind the bottom hole the alternator will only use the two front mounting bolts. Is this enough to hold it securely? So much for it being a bolt on piece. :skep: :nopity
