165 swap question
I am in the process of swapping a 165 ECM into my 85. I have a memcal but I do not know what it is from. I am going to burn my own EPROM.
Are the two other chips on the memcal unique to each memcal type. Do I need a memcal that came from a Corvette with a 4 + 3 trans or would any memcal from a V8 work.

On the PROM inside the memcal there should be a 3 or 4 character broadcast code. For example mine is ABTB. Let us know what you see on it and that will tell us what it is from.

I think the APYU this is from a Firebird w/auto trans. If I want to get rid of the cold start valve should I start with a 89 memcal like ABTB? I think it is from a Vette with a 6spd. Or should I use the ABTB?
