Need help with analysing AutoXray data
I recently installed my newly assembled LT4 396ci and have trouble with my idle. The engine runs very poor at idle and when put into gear (auto) it will drop dramatically in rpm or just dies out on me. Tried everything from different sparkplugs, drilling a hole between the TB plates, using stock injectors again, reducing fuel pressure and many other things.
I don’t know how to post my data, so it would be nice if someone can send me an email and I would in return send my data sheets.
Thanks
Are you using the '92 ECM? Has it been programmed for the new engine parts?
If there are no mechanical/wiring issues, the ECM must be programmed for the new
cylinder capacity, cam, injectors, heads, etc. Is there someone local to you who does
GM ECM work?
A tuner will need to see the idle data logs on:
BLM
Spark advance
MAP
IAC counts
RPM
O2 volts
ECT
MAT
Most often, for bigger cam/heads the ECM needs more idle spark advance; lower Fuel VE
at idle; updated displacement & inj flow constants.
I'd be glad to look at your logs, but I only work with Diacom or DataMaster files - I have
no copy of Auto X-Pay to use. Does your program export data in MS Excel format, or Lotus,
or something else?
Good Luck
