Where did you stick your hand?
Chances are that someone, in changing the plugs, dropped one and it got stuck on top of the starter. Whoever it was didn't fish it out with a magnet, and just bought another one and installed it.
It almost had to be laying on top of starter and then fell in the hole when you tilted and removed the starter..The plug and your flywheel would be beat to H3LL and back.. if it were even possible for it to have been riding in there. Thats my guess anyway.
some how it was jammed in cause it was i beech to pull the starter out in the first place...since the starter has a pointy nose and there is about 2 inches of gap between the fly wheel and bottem of casing there is som room...thank god it wasnt dancing....if it was ,,the ceramic would be broken...what a mess that would be...there isnt a shield that comes off,,that you can see the flywheel??witout pulling the starter?maybe sabatoge?no one ever touched my car exept for alignment since ive owned it
