Default Spark plug help question

I just spent all day installing new plugs in the vet. Well I just spoke to one of my friends on the phone and he was bitching at me because he thinks I used the wrong spark plug. I used NGK TR55 plugs. The plugs I took out of the car have compression rings against the seat of the threads where as the new plugs dont. Did I use the wrong plugs or am I ok? I started the car up and it seems to run fine. Havent drivin it yet.

I believe you should use plugs with the compression ring since you have Al heads.

Ok, so did I cause any damage to my heads by having those plugs in for an hour (not drivin, just sitting in the driveway - The plugs are out now) and I have a set of AC Rapid Fires that do have the compression ring. Are the AC Rapid Fires any good? (They are still in the box and have been in a drawer for 5 years)

You should be fine with the rapid fires (I assume they are #5). That's what I have in my '91.
