Hi guys,
I've got a lot of tools but obviously not the one I need to remove the plug in the head between #1 & #3 cylinders. I have received my aux fan harness, sensor, etc But can't figure out if I need to purchase a special tool for the removal of this plug in order to thread-in the sensor.
If I remember right it is a TORX head. Like the bolts on your intake. Don't remember the size off hand though. All I do remember when I went to install my aux fan switch is that the plug was corroded into the head. Seems they put a nice steel plug in an aluminum head. I pretty much stripped the plug trying to get it to turn while working between the headers. I ended up drilling and using an easy out to get it out. What a pain in the rear. Hopefully yours goes better.
Well, mine is not a torx...it has a square 'hole' in the center of the plug with one point going towards the outside from each corner AND has a small nipple right smack dab in the center. The small nipple keeps whatever tool fom going in very far unless it has a hole in the center of the tool..What kind of plug is this????
