1988 Auto, shift question
Today my car decided it no longer wanted to go into park. Park is instead reverse, reverse is still reverse, and everything else works properly. Also I'm having problems pulling the car down into first; it seems to want to stay in second and doesn't actually click into first.
While actually driving everything is great.. everything shifts perfectly from first to fourth.
I'm pretty sure it's just a cable issue. Is this something I can adjust, or should I replace the entire cable?

Thanks. After thinking about it some more I'm almost certain it's the cable as well.
The book makes it look pretty simple to change it. However it also made the heater core look pretty simple, so I don't trust the book's directions anymore. How big of a job is it to change this cable? It's looking like the exhaust may be in the way.
