Check engine light(my worst enemy)
My check engine light on my 84 came on today. The first time i saw it come, it came on for about 10 seconds then shut off????????. I got back home and,then i had to leave again, it came on agian this time it stayed on. could this be electrical or mechanical, like mabey a blown head gasket. god please noooo. any advice would be appreciated. Thanx

its been dieing lately can that be fuel related. ive heard that 84s had a bad history of starvation. and how do i check the codes on it. im 18 so i dont know as much as you guys do about cars.

Once you check the codes and find out what they mean, you will need a DVOM in order to check the appropriate sensors. Just remember that code from a given sensor doesn't necessarilly mean the sensor is bad. You really a service manual to help trouble shoot the causes of various codes, AND drivability issues.
