I have a 96 ZF I swapped into my 84 (I know, its not the same) but I reused my 4+3 single mass FW and it rattles pretty good in neutral with the clutch out..I used a stock lt1\4 clutch setup as well...I also get some noise under heavy acceleration (but I think its due to my 4+3 FW being thinner then the comparable Dual Mass. According to ZFDOC, its ok to have gear chatter as it won't hurt the ZF itself...just something to get used to...it almost has a diesel sound....rattle, rattle, rattle....
Thanks....the rattles were my main concern. I think I'll have to stick with the dual mass.
Yep- If I could- I would have...it can be quite annoying...especially when someone pulls up next to and say's "Is that the engine"?? Typically I say back "No, it's the remais of the other A-Hole who asked that very same question caught up in its teeth"!
