92 ACT (Air Conditioning) Question
Have my 92 Vert 6 speed at a highly recommended AC repair shop now. I am trying to sell it and the first person that came to look at it was present when I discovered that the AC no longer blows cold.
Any way, the light under the 'auto' button flashes. Fan works fine. AC shop said it has 85 pounds pressure of Freon. Owner's manual says the system is either low on Freon or needs 'servicing'. AC shop said it re-set the system, etc. but problem is still there so they conclude that it is an electrical issue.
Has anyone had this problem that can give a couple of clues to help the shop get this fixed?
Oh yeah, my rear tires aren't bald but could use replacing. I don't drive the vette in the rain but got caught in a shower on the way to the shop. Hit some minor (less than 1/2 inch) standing water on I-35 while in the middle lane between 2 large SUVs. Needless to say, I will be replacing the rear tires prior to selling this vehicle (just after I clean out my underpants).
Hope to one day have a cherry ZR1 or auto trans CTS-V. I wax poetic.

If indeed the system is fully charged, you may need to clear the ac computer. I don't know how the shop cleared yours. Just pull off a battery cable for a few and see if that clears it up. If not, then you may have a pressure switch that has gone bad. I believe it is the low pressure switch right by the evaporator. If you short that connector out and the AC runs, then the switch is bad or you really are low on freon.
