Default some questions on C4

Hi all. I am not usually in this forum cause I have a C5 but my uncle has a C4 and I have some questions maybe someone can help me.The PKE doesn't work.I have reprogrammed it and the receiver docent recognize it. The battery is good where is the best place it get another. Also how do you remove the DIC panel to remove and replace the lights behind it.I just replaced the shocks but not with originals and now I get a light which I expected.Want to pull the lights out. What a difference with the new shocks compared to the old originals.Rides and feels like brand new.Hope you don't mind helping out a c5 owner working on a c4.

Default Re: some questions on C4 (don7790)

your batting .500 today... no help on the PKE, but, help in the DIC.

the DIC. Remove the center console. It is held by 3 screws, 2 in the back, inside the console, under the carpet. the other, in a cup holder.

You should not have to remove the shifter. This should get you enough room.

The radio plate is held on with 4 screws and a couple of spring clips.

Two of the screws are down below the lighter - if I remember rightly, they are both 9/32" heads. In the AC duct there are a couple of phillips head screws.

Pull off the cover, being aware of the spring clips (center, left of the DIC).

Using the same socket, you can now remove the DIC.

A side note - the screws that hold the shifter/console cover in place may also be 9/32" screws.

hope this helps!

PS: these notes refer to my 92, I know the dash changed, but the concept should apply.
