Default Low Coolant idiot light

Ever since I have owned my 88 Vette I have had issues with the low coolant light being on constantly. Of course first I verified that I actually didn't have a low coolant level. It was fine. Then this weekend I replaced the low coolant sensor. The light still comes on. Any ideas of what the next logical thing to check is? It's a minor annoyance but an annoyance all the same. Any help would be much appreciated!!

Air in the system is typically what causes this. Check all hoses and clamps to see if they are tight. Also check rad cap. It may be pushing hot coolant into the overflow and sucking in air when it cools. The loose clamps give the same effect. If this is good you will have to pack the system. Raise nose of car and with cap off and thermstat open rev engine to 2500 or so rpms. Coolant level will drop. While revving fill ran and cap before rpms drop. This usually fixes it.

I do have some sort of coolant leak it is either the thermostat housing or the head gasket, could this cause it as well? It isn't a huge leak but enough I can see it on the manifold after a run.

That will do it anything that lets coolant out will let air in. If you want to put the light out, to avoid looking at it until a repair is made. disconnect wire and ground it. Light will go out.
