The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Rest assured I am NOT ignoring anyone. I have got some emails, like JB666's for my weatherstripping which I have emailed him the same message countless times, and I don't think they are going through.
This really has me frustrated.....I am back on yahoo currently....but things like JB666 don't seem to be going through. This is not good.
Rich, I replied back to your message about 1 week ago, and I thought another also.....Your not getting any either
I think I am moving back to the lick it, mail it and wait scenerio.
Again I sincerely appologize for the problems. I am busy with my car, but would not ignore anyone's emails.
Please try to bear with me till this gets sorted out.
I am with this email now. ski_dwn_it@yahoo.com
Modern technology.....gotta love it
Oh yeah and these IMs are about worthless. They are a PITA to send if you did not recieve one, and they seldom if ever come through. Please resend if you sent one, but use the yahoo email.
Hello Jesse,
Last night I went to the local 1/8 mile track and was
disappointed with the results. First, the rev limiter
is still set somewhere around 5800 instead of 6500.
Again, I made 3 back to back runs, with your chip the
runs were as follows. 8.092 at 87.08 mph, 7.913 at
87.83 mph, 8.006 at 87.48 mph.
The fastchip generic chip was as follows. 7.831 at
87.89 mph, 7.843 at 87.70 mph, and 7.876 at 87.69
mph.
All runs were made in drive letting the car shift on
its own. (factory govenor and shifting around
5600-5700)
I then tried to use the chip that you made for me, for
emissions. The car wont start with it. I pulled it out
and turned it around to see if I had it on backwards.
Still no start.
Should I return these to you to look at again?
Thanks
Richard

I did not realize this thread still was going after my last replies back that I was having email problems. I have several email in my yahoo account which I intended to review this morning and go over. In addition I thought you were sending back your chips per our last conversation, when you said the emissions one did not work.
As for the track results/dyno results....after you mailed the chips back the last time, I leaned out the chips. I do not want to go crazy and lean them out to too much. On the graphs you gave me from your dyno, which I have here infront of me, the AFR from ~4000-6200 was mid 12s moving slightly towards 13, which is exactly what you want. The <4000rpm is richer as you said, but you picked up a rediculous amount of power from 2300rpm-3400RPM. In the rehlm of 50 usable hp....that is right there on the dyno graphs which I pointed out in your last post regarding the two chips.
With your track results, you did not include the 60' times which I assure you are deceased from 1.7s to 1.82 & 3s because your spinning. Yet your still turning nearly the same ETs.
I did not really want to lean the lower end out, but did on your requst, all I can do is advise people on what I think is best, which is why your times most likely did not come back, on the second time around.
The dyno graphs clearly show a HUGE improvement in the area described above, and if your spinning off the line, then your times are going to suffer. You just need better tires to put the overall package together.
I would be happy to help you further and pick up all the shipping costs for you to resolve this until your happy with what you have received.
Again I thought you were sending the chips back, so I appologize for the misunderstanding.....I hope this clears the air a little. If you did not send back the chips yet be sure to include the rest of your time slips on with it.
I just ran some very interesting interval calculations comparing the two chips that further backs the 60' spinning scenerio. Comparing the slips I have here breaking the times out in intervals the two chips compared within .00X on every run, which stands to reason since the two compared very closely on the dyno runs, except at the begining of your runs from 3400 and less where mine made TONS more power. If you can harness that power on the launches you will turn a MUCH MUCH better ET than the other chip.
I have been doing this and racing for quite a while. The difference between a 1.73 60' time and a 1.837 60' time is HUGE. To the tune of about .2sec at the end of the track and then some since your turning nearly the same ETs at the end so its gaining throughout a little also.
Well I look forward to hearing from you. If you send more messages via email, back them up with a IM message letting me know you sent one. OK.
Thanks and talk to you soon. PS: Let me know what the shipping was for the past shippment and I will pick that up as well.
Don't want anyone going unhappy.
With your chip they are 1.817 and 5.264, 1.796 and 5.115, 1.88 and 5.200. with the generic chip 1.731 and 5.037, 1.730 and 5.043, 1.762 and 5.075.
After reviewing these runs (on video) I did get a little spin on the 1.88 run with your chip. On that run, when I tried to do my burnout only one tire was wet and I let off so it didnt get them hot.
I have a auto xray and if there are any readings I can take that will help you please tell me what they are and I will do it.
I dont want any hard feelings over this, I have become flustered when e-mailing several times , sending IM and it seemed that since I was complaining I was being ignored. I hope I was wrong. I will try to transfer the video over to a DVD and I will send it to you in the next few days along with the time slips and chips. If there are any readings with the auto xray that I can take let me know and I will send them as well.
Oh, by the way, the best run my wife made at Cecil Co. (different track) was a 11.97 at 115.81 mph. She drove around the water, tried to do a short hop to clean the tires, and pulled up to the line and ran. The ET Streets hooked to the tune of a 1.75 60ft time. Hookedup was behind her in the lanes and commented to us that the track will be getting on her for running in the 11's and no roll bar. Which of course they did give her a warning.
The point I am trying to make, (other then being proud of her for the run) is the Tires hook well and wheel spin is not my problem. This run was done on the generic chip.
One other thing I will add (and I apoligize for rambleing so much) is if you think it would help, I can get the car dynoed again to assure the dyno readings were done correctly.
Just advise me as to sending them back now or if you need further info on my part, ie. auto xray readings, dyno pulls, etc. I do want to get this thing right.
