Default Drag Racers: Burnout rubber - How do you remove it?

How are you guys removing the rubber from under your wheel wells after a night of racing. I have a lot of rubber from my drag radials under my wheel wells and need a good way to get rid of it.

The rubber really hurts the points at car shows.

Let me know what you do.

There is still rubber from the fenderwells from 2 years ago on my car. The only thing that is going to take it off is elbow grease.

I've found that the bulk of it will rub off. When it won't I use over the counter bug and tar remover and a lot of paper towels.

You can also apply paste wax to your quarters and don't remove it. Then after a night at the track, it's wipe off much easier.

I read somewhere that if you spray PAM on your wheel wells before you race will allow the rubber to come off easy.

Does anyone have any experience with this or is there a better way.

Go to NAPA and get some PPG DX330 to get it off. Maybe line your wheelwells with masking tape before you race to keep it from happening.

I've seen guys spray WD-40 on there quarter panels and wheel wells before the races. I would imagine it works also.

WD40... It will take off the rubber in milliseconds. Then wax the car really good and spray a light coat of it on top of the wax. Then you can just take a rag and wipe it right off. I've used this stuff for years on all of the drag cars.

I use a pressure jet to wash off most; you can then detail the residue.

As mentioned, apply a coating to the surface after it is clean.
