Ok..I just need some feed back about the Magnaflow mufflers. I have a set of Flowmasters and have read that they are not that good at there flow numbers. I need some feedback on the Magnaflow on sound and quality and fit. Picture will be fine to..
The magnaflows have a great quality stainless-look and even better sound. You won't find a better muffler for the $$$. The fit is very good. You may have to adjust the hanger a bit to keep them from hanging down too much though. I added rubber shims inside my old mounts and bent the bracket down before I installed them and when I mounted them they dropped about level. The first try with mounting brackets level and they hung down a bit too far. I definately would get them welded up if you like them and use high-temp aluminum paint to paint the pipes leading to the muffler for a clean look. I didn't go for the two-tone look! Resonance may or may not effect you depending on your mods. Mine did much better after the 3.73 gear change. W.O.T. is a great performance sound and idle and cruise is mean sounding. RPM's around 1800 to 2200 is where I get resonance. B.T.W., my neighbor across the street has the same set on a stock motor and his is w/o resonance, go figure?
I agree with everything Ruby said. My setup is a stock LT1 A4 with open air lid and K&N filter on the front and 3.07 rear end. No other engine mods. I get a little resonance in the 1500-1800rpm range but it's not annoying (except to my wife). The resonance did settle down a bit after a couple 100 miles. I also adjusted my hangers by bending them to get the tips high and tight under the cutouts in the rear bumper. Looks saweet now.
