Got a 90 the digital portion of the instrument speedometer, gas level,ODO etc... is backilt at night. The light flickers only in the digital display, tach, oil level water temp etc... is steady. I'm thinking maybe the bulb has developed corrosion. Is the bulb replaceable? Has anyone seen this before?
Mine does exactly the same thing you've mentioned. I've got my whole dash apart (referenced from manual) and I only had one bulb, unrelated to the LCD Display, bad. Hoping to hear from input as it drive me crazy watching it dim, then go bright.
it has to do with the battery and the amount of current getting to the cluster. my TPI vette does and so does my 2001 C5. i dont know how bad yours is but i dont think theres anything you can do.

that's what i was gonna say, but changed my mind cause I was referring to a TPI... that's interesting its the same symptons... what problems were you having with your TPI's cluster, and what did you do?
Do you have a Service Manual? If so, go to Section 8A-82-xx. If not, try this, and I'll email you a scanned copy of the pertainent portion: Headlights on. Shine a bright light at the ambient light sensor opening (above the DIC). Does this effect the brightess and steadiness of the light in the digital display? If so, replace the sensor. If not, post here or email me at a1973vette@hotmail.com.
