Default X-brace is installed.

After a year of it sitting in the garage, I finally installed a convertible x-brace in my LT4 coupe. It took me pretty much all weekend and, I think, a 30-pack of Miller Lite, but it's on.

The install was ok, just frustrating and time consuming. Where the brace mounts on the front section of the frame, there are already threaded inserts in the frame . The rear is the Problem. I ended up, after trying other things, making some brackets out of angle iron and grade 5 bolts as studs, then bolted it to the frame that way. next, I had to pull both seats for the bolts that go through the floor pan.

I managed to take it for a quick test drive last night with the roof out. The car seemed MUCH more stiff. The car shook a lot less going over RR tracks and the like. It felt really nice. keep in mind, I do have the camber brace, as well.

Later,

Default X brace

That's good to hear. It'll get me off my rear and get one installed in mine. I hate all that wobbling around with the top off! Thanks.

Ok, Here's my driving impression with the roof in place.

SWEET!!!!! This car feels incredibly solid now. I know it's probably not, but it feels almost like a C5, as far as stiffness is concened. I highly recommend finding an X-brace from a 'vert, or buying the Cross-Frame from Dave Cooper!...

That's good to hear! I just ordered the Camber-Brace and the Cross-Frame from Dave during the last group buy. Should be getting it soon. I can't wait to put it on. Right now I don't even remove my top because I can't stand the way the car flexes w/o it.
