Default Help DTC 36, DTC 44 codes...

Like the title states I am pulling DTC 36,44 codes..When I start the car it runs fine no codes but after driving for about 15 mins or less its starts bucking on slow acceleration and my tachs starts flashing back and forth....then after that the car runs with a bad miss and the service engine light comes on... If I let the car sit and start it is fine for a little while then starts acting up again...........
DTC 36 code is Distibutor Ign System (Faulty High Resolution pulse or extra low resolution pulse detected)............
DTC 44 code is Oxygen sensor circuit Lean exhaust indicated, Drives side bank....
Any ideas would be great....... Thanks..................

your optispark is dying a slow and miserable death.

the O2 sensor needs to be replaced.

hm. That's not good...

The code 36 is cut and dry, there is a problem with the optical portion of the optispark.

I don't know what else would cause the code 36.

As for the 02, make sure the wire is good. Sometimes exhaust heat will cause them to melt and stuff.

As bogus said, I had a code 36 too, and it went away after changing the opti. The car ran ok, but I think it lost performance top end. My opti had less than 1000 miles on it when I installed it, but it had been sitting around a couple of years in a box. So it might have collected some moisture during storage.

BTW, recognize these valve covers?
