I have an '88 with A-mold wheels and 275/40s in front and 315/35s in the back. Currently, I have Dunlop sp 8000s and I am not crazy about them. The shoulder is too round so the contact patch is actually reduced compared to other tires of the same size and they don't look all that great. I am discovering that not all tires I like come in 315s.
What's the best all-around replacement tires in terms of: dry traction (I don't drive it in the rain), looks, handling, and price.

You only have a handfull of tires to choose from in a matching set. I have a set of the new Goodyear GSD3 on my same rims and love them. The have all the goodies Rim guards. Great looks and get this 280 tread wear. You will get some miles out of them.
