Having owned a Vortech s/c for pretty much the past 6-7 years, that sounds pretty normal to me. Prochargers are the loudest blower on the market, IMHO, and yours sounds normal to me.

The file sounded a little distorted to me, but it otherwise sounds like my Procharger 600. Mines pretty loud, and my hot rodder friend says hes not sure if he would put up with that noise on a driver like my vette will be- but I think its cool. Its definately louder than my SLP Stainless mufflers.

You know that sounds like the compressor is not one piece, more like the blades are loose in the hub, like a jet engine turbine section. What does your literture say about it?
BTW, how do you like the way it performs?
