Default Spring rate-Three letter code conversion

I'm looking for a chart that lists springs by both rate and three letter (broadcast code) label. I have seen one chart that lists spring rates by model and RPO code (very informative, my thanks to the author), but I need some help decoding the spare springs I have lying around the garage, and individual springs I see at swap meets.

Thanks,
Mike

You might have better luck posting this in the C3 section

Because your profile says you have a '69. C4 springs are completely different than C3's

Thank you for stating the obvious. But your point is what? Do I have to register with two different userid's to get information regarding my C3 or my C4? (I posted this request in the C4 forum to obtain info on parts I use on my C4.)

I recently did a search on the forum on spring codes to find out what springs I had just bought. Lot of info here in the archives.

I've got the info you're looking for. Just let me know what the codes are on your springs, and I'll let you know for what year and suspension package they are for.

My stock suspension 85 used the NYR spring.

I appreciate your suggestion here. I looked at it, and it is the chart I mentioned earlier (by Mr, Hib Halverson I believe). It's very well organized and I appreciate his work here. I'm still looking for help with my original question. On the springs themselves there is a three letter code. I am trying to find either a conversion chart that will list the three letter (broadcast) code and the attending spring rate, or a chart that will show which broadcast code belongs to which RPO code (which would allow me to use Mr. Halvorson's chart).
Thanks again for your help.
Mike

The Vette parts list has the information your looking for. You'll have to go to a dealer to look at it or try ebay to see if someone is selling a cd-rom version.

HMP front = 51.8 rate used on 85-87 base/FE1 and 87 Z-52s.
NYR rear = 39.9 rate 85-94 base.

I'm interested in finding a chart of the 3 letter part numbers too - I'm looking for soft spring from a 94-96. (to replace the hard ones, Z52, on my 88)

The Hib Halverson chart shows various combinations of coupe/conv F and Z ratings are all different, it would be good to know what the 3 letter prefix is for the soft springs which are rated 60N/mm front and 26N/mm rear.

ZO7 Freak, can you help me out too ?

Stingraynut,

26.0 rears are code RHZ

The code for the 60.0 fronts is a little tricky. I believe it will have either code HA or JA. The 60.0 front spring is the only C4 spring I can not confirm 100%.

Thanks Z-07 freak, appreciate that. Any clues as to how I can get the front spring code ? - especially useful to me here in Australia, I don't want to arrange shipping of a spring and discover it's the same or worse than my 90N/mm
