I've got a power effects exhaust that was installed about 2 years ago, and I loved it. About a year ago I had SLP shorty headers installed and now the PE exhaust is giving me a head ache. Does anybody know if Corsa is quieter than the PE with headers? Otherwise I might have to go back to stock. Thanks.
Yeah it is adjustable, but I get heavy resonance at about 2000-2200 RPM, just where your car is most of the time. Like I said, before the headers it was great, now it is really loud, even closed.

I have TPIS longtube headers with no cats into a Corsa system and I get no resonence at all. It's loud, but I can still cruise and talk on my cell, or to a passenger (as long as I'm not at WOT) without any issues.
Interesting that your SLP shorties made that much a difference in noise. I had a corsa then installed the slp's and didn't notice any difference in noise inrease. Maybe because of the corsas?
define too quiet. At highway speeds, they are about as loud as stock, except, the resonance is gone. At higher RPMs, they are a bit more growly.
The only problem, and some here will bitch about it incessently, is that they are "funny sounding" and don't sound like a small block. However, if you are out to eliminate the resonance associated with the factory exhaust, then who cares?
I happen to have very sensative hearing. I cannot tolerate boominess for any extended period. The factory exhaust was just too much for boom. It had to go. I tried the cheap way out - eliminators - but that was just LOUD!!!! Then I went to Corsa's. This was after the elims nearly failed inspection! Delaware has a 95 db limit (3' off the bumper). I hit 94.3 db... if DE lowered their limit, or, I visited the beaches (they are **** down there) I was screwed. So... Corsa it is.
I suggest you go to a forum event and listen to the options...
What gears do you have? (sorry if you said, didn't read the whole thread this time around) Perhaps going to some steeper gears would get you out of that range quicker? Maybe some 3.73s so that you're at a higher rpm at each speed. Just a thought? Good luck
Too quiet meaning the little ole lady driving the C5 down the street which is pretty common here in Florida, but I don,t want the sickening sound of a Mustang on flowmasters either.

One thing mustangs do to make them louder is dump them right after the muffler.
