Default Ecm vs Cluster engine temp sensors

I recall someone posting this same question before the new forum look and don't recall what resolved the issue. The search tool seems to not go back that far in time.

I have a 10 degree diffirence between the ecm vs cluster (the cluter measures hotter) after replacing the ecm sensor with an aftermarket unit (gp sorenson).

Thanks.

Its normal. Consider also the fact that the sensors are in different locations and see the coolant at different points in its pathways.

I agree with Scorp. 5 degree diference would be nice but ten degrees is perfectly normal. I have never seen them be any closer than 3 or 4 degrees apart.
