should i replace my stock H pipe with an X pipe? theres a guy on grandsport registry with very few mods that claims the X pipe along gave him a dynoed 15rwhp. this may be generous but even if it gains 10rwhp i would be more than happy. has anybody here done this? will it do anything to the sound at all? mods are in my sig. TIA

I've been thinking about the same thing, everyone recommends Dr. Gas for the X-pipe. I've been wanting to hear one in person but there isn't one that I know of that's local.
I don't know what HP boost it gives because I got a whole new system at once. But it will change the sound. My car goes resonant at 3000 RPM and immediately sounds like a nasty Nascar racer.
It doesn't sound like normal duals when the resonance of the x-pipe kicks in.
My LT4 has an X-pipe in place of the resignator and it definetly sounds louder and better. Im running it with no mufflers, its kinda raspy but it definetly is loud. Maybe later on i will get a set of magnaflows. But i would say it would be a great idea to put on an X-pipe
I dont know if he has no resonator or not i dont have cats or mufflers and its still not loud enough for me yet. i wonder if the resonance will be an issue without the resonator?
I like my exhaust, no real resonance. I can't tell you if it had any power increase (Previous owner did it), but I am putting 330 rwhp and 330rwtq with just exhaust.
