They outsource the pumpkins if I remember correctly. Probably their supplier is a little slow in delivering.

I placed a order about a month ago and 2 of the 3 items I ordered were on back order.I waited for about 3 weeks and decided to cancel my order and get it somewhere else.

Yeah...I just cancelled my order today, after getting another run around on the phone. They kinda had the attitude that they didn't need my business.

Someone on here should know who it is that builds their rear-ends for them, try doing a search because I think you can buy right from the source instead of using Zip.

My name is Justin with Zip Products, I am the product Manager. All diffs are built in house. I am very aware about the 4.11 for the C5 that is on order, the problem with that is there are no 4.11 gears in the country right now for them. I was supposed to have recieved them at the end of June and I have not recieved them yet. I was told there was one holding for me and was on the way by the supplier, and it is not here yet. This is not the only one we are waiting on, we also build the diffs that go into Leighton Reese's World Challenge Corvette and he is also waiting. As far as the gentleman with the brakes are concerned, I can't make GM build parts any faster than they want to. One of the ZO6 calipers is on a national back order, unless you know something I do not, I have to wait just like everyone else. We pride our selves on our customer service, so if any of you were treated less than expected than you either need to contact myself or Andy Young who is the Vice President. I will not stand for one of our Salesman to treat a customer with disrespect, however you have to give them some slack, they also cannot control when a vendor will get a back ordered part to us. I spend more than half my day on the phone with Vendors trying to get parts here on time for B/O's and stock. We do not just sit around and wait for stuff to arrive whenever they might. As far as the gears for the 4.11 are concerned, they are made in Italy and everyone is waiting on them, my hands are tied. I can't build your rear if the gear is not here. If you want to go somewhere else to get it, you are still going to wait for it and that is up to you, however if you cancel your order and decide later that you want to order again, you are going to be at the back to the line. There are four on B/O now so that is up to you, I just want you to know we are doing everything we can to get you a diff. About us outscourcing our diffs, we build everything here and actually we build for some of the other large Corvette retailers.

Hey Justin, Thanks for clearing up the delay issues. I understand that your hands are tied, however up until now I was never told
that there was a shortage of parts and the delivery date was unknown. I was initially told it would take about 10-14 working days to ship and based on that information I went ahead and removed my diff from the car. After waiting the 14 days I called to get an update at which time I was told the Diff was due that day, another week went by so I called again and was told it's still on back order however someone would call me back with an ETA. After waiting another two days with no response I called back and still no one had an explanation, so I decided to cancel the order.

I am sorry, I was under the impression that they had told you what the problem was. The reason it was intially supposed go quick was because our inventory said we had a 4.10 in stock. Well that 4.10 had been built and installed in Leighton Reeses race car for about 2 weeks already and for some reason was not removed from stock. That is when I found out about the B/O situation. I usually keep 3 or 4 of the 4.10's in stock and my supplier told me we would have them by the end of June, which as we know now is not the case. Believe me I am trying to get these as fast as possible, I have four that need to be built.

Justin, thanks for replying. I ordered a C4 rotor and pad kit last year and they were non GM parts. You guys took care of me but it just took a few months and I was just posting my experience so others would know about it.

Well actually our rotor and pad kit is GM OE supplier. Sometimes it take time to get them in. Eventhough we have them in stock most of the time, sometimes we don't. It is very difficult dealing with O.E. suppliers because they are not worried about there customers the way we are. I am sorry they were on B/O but sometimes there is nothing we can do about it.

Hey Justin, no big deal...Just a miscommunication. How are the parts availablity on the 3.73's? because I may compromise and go with that ratio.

Oh, I didn't know GM made the cross-drilled and slotted rotors. The pads are Hawk HP's.

Justin, It is unfortunate that some sales line attendants are not always as aware of the problems as the management level. This is not to point any blame, but it helps me understand why sometimes I feel as though my orders have fallen into the "blackhole". It is great that you have come forward with an explaination to help us all better understand your companies position. I wish we had communications with all of our vendors as we do with yours.

Thanks, Steve

It was probably a part that Corvette America made.
