Default Cold AC Again!

Just reporting back that my 90 had dumped all it's precious R-12 last week because of a leak in the condensor.

I got a new consendor, accumulator and set of o-rings from TLD

I also got a smart VOV orifice, because I was concerned about the 134 not cooling as well as the R-12. Also got a Freeze-12 kit but decided not to use it. I thought I would try 134 first.

I dumped about 4 ounces of Ester oil into the new accumulator. The Interdynamics kit is pretty easy to do, as I already had a set of 134 guages.

Used 80% of the R-12 charge which worked out to be just about 2 cans. The cans also seem to contail the right amont of Ester oil.

I decided not to rent the vacuum pump as their prices have seem to really come down over the years. I got this one and it worked great:

Let the vacuum pump suck for about 30 minutes (but it seemed to completely evacuate it in about 5 minutes) and then I let it set of a while to make sure there were no leaks. Added two can and I'm cool again

And we need to be cool here in the Florida Inferno

That's the same vacuum pump I have...except mine's been in the family for YEARS.
I have a leak somewhere in my system...when I get some money I'm gonna leak-test it, then hopefully have cold AC again aswell
