Can someone please explain Cam Timing to me. I understand the basics, My question is about the -4 +4 or 0 advance timing.

I'm no expert but changing the cam +/- 4 degrees will shift your powerband to give you more bottom end or more top end power depending on which way you go. Most cams already have some advance built into them and you should probably install them at 0 degrees. Check with the cam manufacture to be sure.

Most cams come with 4º advance ground in.

Go to www.chevytalk.com/tech/101/cam_theory.html You said you have an understanding of the "basics", so some of it will be redundant. There is a section that explains the advanced vs retard timing. Edit: I don't know why the link I just posted doesn't work. I'll try to see what went wrong.
