I am just wondering if this is normal: My '95 has always made a sucking sound as it shuts down at key-off. Sort of a "Shooooooooop..." suction like sound comes from the engine bay, possibly from fuel rail or fuel pressure regulator but I can't really pinpoint it other than it sounds like a liquid-induced sound. Duration is only about a second or two and it sounds like pressure equalization, but: happens when air conditioning is not running, electric emissions air pump is off also.
It makes the sound right at moment when the engine has spun-down and piston movement has stopped, sounds like. Like the moment the crankshaft stops moving.
Maybe I'm being over-analytical.
I was just wondering if anyone else's does this or not, and if not could this be the fuel pressure regulator acting up?
Since I changed my air intake to a vortex I hear it every time. Never heard it in the stock air cleaner. It is normal to hear if your looking for it. I say the engine is still pretty tight......
