So what you're saying is, you've disengauged the e-brake (i.e., it felt like it released and went to the floor), but the car physically won't move? Or can you just not get the e-brake to disengauge? Is the "Park" light still lit on the dash? More info please!

I released the E brake handle and nothing happens. Light is lit in dash, drove car around the block and brakes were smoking. I can not get it to disengauge. Linkage under car seems to be fine. Handle does not acuate the srping by the mufflers. Do you think its a broken cable or the the part connects it to the lever came off?

you have to pull up the handle & release it again ( the procedure is in the owners manual )
unscrew and take the cover off the e-brake. poke a screw driver in and dis-engage the brake.
Mine was broken when I got the car. I used this method until I had it fixed.
Someone may have "overpulled" the brake handle and the lever may have over shot the teeth.

If pulling it further witth the button in doesn't work, I'd try taking the seat out and removing the cover. There's a slider in there with an e-clip on it that falls off, and the piece comes out.
