I have a 1996 with the stock saw blade rims. I have noticed that after the last wash and shine i see a milky discoloration on two of the wheels. It's not a lot, just a few places. Is there anything out there I can use safely to clean or polish them without messing them up? Thanks in advance.
You can try a wheel cleaner made for clear coated wheels.
The symptom you describe SOUNDS like the clear is discoloring. It isn't out of the ordinary for that to happen. A lot of heat from the brakes/driving over time will do that. If you can't get the wheels to your satisfaction...a re-finish might be in order.

I have an '89 with salad shooters on it and the clear coat needs to be redone. I have been using Turtle Wax 2001 protectant on them until I get them refinished. You would be surprised how much it helps.
Had it happen to me with Wheels on Yukon after going threw car wash. Noticed whitish stains on wheels (clear coat). Car wash took no responsibility (no surprise) use armorAll to mask problem. What a mess! Just got a new C5 yesterday. What do you use to clean Highly Polished Wheels
