Rear window defogger

The wire came off on side of my rear window defogger. Does anyone know if I can solder that wire back on using my soldering station? Will it damage the window? Should I take it to a glass shop to have it fixed?

Rather than solder, I used conductive epoxy from an electronics store. Been a few years, still holds great.

It is hard to solder in that location. The soldering tape is easier.

Yes, you can soder the wire or another back on. You need to have it good and hot and it's a little tricky doing it upside down. Put something under neath to catch the drips. Good luck!

The Carquest has an epoxy repair kit just for it. I also had good luck with a soldering iron. Not too difficult.
