Have you considered an Edge converter as an alternative to Vigilante? I personally have no experience with either, but many people on the ImpalaSSforum have have realized much better performance from the Edge converter. Bottom line is that their (Edge) converters are more efficient than the Vigilante, less $$ than the Vigilante and are custom built to your setup (similar to the Vigilante).

Try Finish Line Performance, there should be a link on the laft side bar of the forum. I got mine from them. I forget how much I paid, it wasn't cheap, but it wasn't as much as what I heard others had paid.
