Default HELP! Intermittent Service Engine Light

I've had my '95 Six speed for only a few months and the service engine light is coming on for several seconds (maybe 20 or 25 seconds) and goes off for a while.... Then it all happens again I notice no change or noise coming from the engine so, as of now, I'm clueless. I was on the freeway traveling around 70 MPH when it started. My car has 52,000 miles. Does anyone have any ideas? What commonly fails that would cause this to occur?

THANKS

There shud be a code set in the computer for the fault. Are you familiar with extracting codes from the computer. If not go to c4vettes.com
for the procedure. Make sure you go to the section for 16 pin connectors which will apply to your 95. It's easy to do after the first time. Someone here will walk you thru the procedure.

Whatever the fault is, the ECM will have stored a code. You'll need to pull it and see what it is. Go here http://www.c4vettes.com/codes.htm and you might be able to pull them yourself. If not, you might need a scan tool to get them. From your description, I'd say a code 32.

Could be a bad plug wire, all it takes is a little crack in wire, once the car is completely warm it goes away. Will show misfire on OBD I. Hope you find it.Let us know. Good Luck. Save the Wave.>George

Correct me if I am wrong, but that feature is only on OBD2 cars.

you're close... misfire is required with OBD-II. there may be vehicles out there with misfire AND OBD-I. Corvettes are not one of them.

George might be on to something, though. i remember my friend's mid-90 Taurus' ignition module used to crap out only when it warms up.
