Default Firm pedal...Weak brakes

I replaced my master cylinder and bled my brakes. Now the pedal feels great, but it feels like it takes the car a long time to stop. Ideas?

How is the booster? Is it partially filled with engine oil, or brake fluid?

I would not be surprised if the booster is bad.

OH, I dunno. You might check to see if the brake booster is partially filled with engine oil or brake fluid.

Alright, I'm an idiot here, but how do I check to see if the booster has fluid in it?

If the booster is bad or filled with fluid, will I still have fully functioning brakes, except without the power assist?

my1st_vette84 posted the same question, twice. I linked his second post to his first post. Mr Mojo merged the two posts, negating the link.

Yes. No power brake booster=non power brakes. Was the old master cilynder leaking out the back? You might want to check the check valve on the brake booster. Also check the vacuum line to make sure you didn't knock it off while replacing the master.
